Southern NH Library Cooperative announces launch of shared lending service. Southern NH Library Cooperative The recently formed Southern NH Library Cooperative is a collaboration of three area libraries that have worked together over the last year to establish a shared lending service that will give their patrons access to more resources than ever before. SNHLC member libraries include the Plaistow Public Library, Sandown Public Library and the Kimball Library in Atkinson. On January 30, SNHLC will launch a shared lending service for card holders of the member libraries that will give those patrons convenient online access to the combined catalog of resources from the three member libraries. Montgomery House Warrior Run Area Public Library Montgomery House Warrior Run Area Public Library announced today that it is now live on their installation of the Koha integrated library system and is using it for all collection and patron management services. The library staff worked with local technology volunteers and project managers on system set-up, configuration, and data migration. All bibliographic, item, and patron data was transferred out of its old Winnebago Spectrum system and into Koha. Recent checkout history, fines, holds, and patron messages were also successfully migrated into Koha from its old Spectrum system. OCLC adds 500,000 records to WorldCat from China Academic Library and Information System . OCLC OCLC has added 500,000 records to WorldCat from the China Academic Library and Information System, a nationwide academic library consortium with a mission to promote, maintain and improve resource sharing among Chinese university libraries and other libraries and institutions. These records represent Chinese publications between 1987 and 2001. The records have been added to WorldCat to help promote the use of the CALIS collection and use of OCLC resource sharing services in libraries in China, and to maximize each organization’s strengths in enhancing cooperative building and sharing of information resources on a global scale. The LOCKSS program and Ex Libris SFX provide access to archived electronic resources. Ex Libris Ex Libris announced the integration of the LOCKSS Program software with the SFX OpenURL link resolver. Based at Stanford University Libraries, the LOCKSS Program is an international community collaboration that archives copies of scholarly journals so that library users can continue to access licensed copies when the journals are not available directly from the publisher. Added as a target in SFX, the LOCKSS service retrieves licensed materials from the library’s own LOCKSS archive. Libraries that activate this target can offer uninterrupted access, through SFX context-sensitive links, to scholarly content that is securely archived in their own LOCKSS Box.
